Privacy Policy
This policy covers the Beeline mobile app and the Beeline website at ridebeeline.com.
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Overview
Beeline is a compass-first cycling navigation app. This policy explains what data may be used by the Beeline mobile app and website, why it is used, and the choices you have.
Beeline does not require an account. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Data We Collect
Location data: when you grant location permission, the mobile app uses precise or approximate location while the app is open to show your position, calculate distance and bearing to your destination, estimate ride details, and help plan routes.
Destination and search data: when you search for an address or place, drop a pin, or request cycling route options, the search terms, selected destination, and relevant origin/destination coordinates may be sent to map, geocoding, or routing services to complete that request.
Ride display data: the app may calculate speed, ETA, bearing, distance, GPS accuracy, and arrival status on your device so the compass screen can work.
Website data: our website may collect basic usage and performance information through Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights.
Support data: if you email us, we receive the contact information and message content you choose to send.
How We Use Data
We use location, destination, search, and route data to provide app functionality: map display, destination search, cycling route options, compass direction, distance, ETA, speed, GPS accuracy, and arrival feedback.
We use website analytics and performance data to understand whether the website is working and to improve reliability.
We use support emails to respond to requests and provide help with Beeline.
Third-Party Services
The app may rely on Apple location services and Apple Maps on iOS, and Google Maps or Android platform map services on Android.
The app uses Expo and React Native platform libraries, including location-related runtime functionality, to access device capabilities with your permission.
Cycling route requests may be sent to OpenRouteService when route options are available.
The website is hosted on Vercel and may use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for privacy-conscious site analytics and performance measurement.
These third-party services may process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
Data Retention
Beeline does not require a user account and is designed to avoid storing ride histories in our own app backend.
Location, destination, and route information may still be processed by third-party services when needed to service a map, geocoding, or routing request.
If we receive your email through a support request, we keep it only as long as needed to provide support or comply with reasonable recordkeeping needs.
User Choices
You can deny or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Some app features will not work without location access.
You can stop app-side data use by closing or uninstalling the app.
You can ask privacy questions or request deletion of support contact data by emailing support@ridebeeline.com.
Children
Beeline is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We may update this policy as Beeline changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes should be reviewed before submitting updated App Store or Google Play privacy disclosures.
